2-Minute Abs by DAREBEE

Day 25 is a crunch card with no repeats in it. The circuit runs high crunches, folded crunches, cycling crunches and leg circles - 30 seconds each, two minutes total - and although three of the four have the word crunch in the name, no two of them curl the same way.

That is the design. High crunches curl straight up toward legs held vertical, which takes the hip flexors out of the movement and leaves the upper abs to do it alone. Folded crunches load the same curl diagonally by folding the knees across to one side before you start, which drops the work into the obliques without asking you to twist at all. Cycling crunches then add active rotation and alternating legs, so the curl, the twist and the leg extension all happen together. Leg circles remove the upper body from the equation entirely, holding the shoulders lifted while both straight legs draw slow circles and the abs fight to keep the lower back on the floor throughout. Four ways to load the same muscle, arranged so no two consecutive panels feel alike.

Keep the legs vertical and quiet in the high crunches. In folded crunches, curl straight upward out of the fold rather than adding rotation with the arms. In cycling crunches, slow down until each leg reaches full extension - this is the exercise most often ruined by speed. In leg circles, keep the legs together, the circles smooth and the lower back flat; shrink the circle rather than let the back arch.

Four crunch variations and not one of them curls the same way.

Make it Harder: Halve the speed of the cycling crunches and fully straighten each leg before it comes back in.

Make it Easier: Let your shoulders settle down between repetitions of the cycling crunches and concentrate on the legs alone.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.

I found Darebee in 2014 and since then I’ve been using it on and off until 2024, when I decided to base all my workouts on Darebee alone. I love the pictures, the variety, the amount of time it takes to complete a workout and how you can mix and match if you have a lot of energy or only repeat 3 times if you don’t feel like exercising. The website is awesome and I recommend it whenever I talk about fitness with other people. I cannot thank Darebee enough for how much this project has helped me in having a solid exercise routine and how to deal with exercise when tired, injured or when I don’t have much time.
