Abs Upgrade is a core workout with a clear firmware structure: three moving exercises, then three static holds. Sit-ups, sitting twists and flutter kicks install the dynamic work; a raised legs hold, a plank and a raised leg plank lock it in. Version two of your midsection ships at the end of the last set.
The two-phase design is the upgrade path itself. The movement block covers the core's three jobs in sequence - sit-ups for straight flexion, sitting twists for rotation with your feet off the floor, flutter kicks for lower-ab endurance. Then the workout stops moving and starts holding, and the holds escalate deliberately: the raised legs hold carries the flutter kick position into stillness, the plank flips you over to load the front of the trunk from above, and the raised leg plank removes one point of support so the core must fight rotation while already holding everything else. Movement builds the strength; the holds teach it to stay switched on. That combination - not more reps - is what an actual upgrade looks like.
Roll up through the sit-ups with control rather than yanking off the floor. Keep your heels hovering through every sitting twist and rotate your shoulders, not just your arms. In the raised legs hold, press your lower back into the floor and adjust leg height until it stays there. During both planks, keep hips level - especially when one leg leaves the ground.
Install movement, lock in stillness, reboot. Your core is now running the new version.
Make it Harder: Double every hold to a 20-count.
Make it Easier: Bend your knees during the flutter kicks and raised legs hold.
