DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Abs
Type: Metcon
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Cycle Core is a back and core workout that alternates high-rep movement with low-rep control, cycling between the front and back of your trunk the whole way through. Climbers and knee-to-elbow crunches supply the volume in blocks of ten; plank crunches, back extensions and leg circles slot between them in deliberate sets of four.

The structure runs on two gears, and the gear changes are the point. Each high-rep block - climbers in the plank phase, knee-to-elbow crunches in the floor phase - drives heart rate and accumulates fatigue through the abs and obliques. Then the workout downshifts: four plank crunches, four back extensions, four leg circles, each demanding precision exactly when precision is hardest to supply. The back extensions matter most in this rotation - they are the only exercise here working the posterior chain directly, balancing all the flexion around them, which is what earns this session its title as a back workout. The closing leg circles ask the deep core to stabilize against movement in every direction at once, four slow orbits to end the set honestly.

Keep your hips low through the climbers and draw each plank crunch knee in with control rather than bouncing it. On the knee-to-elbows, rotate shoulder to hip and keep the tempo unhurried. Lift modestly on the back extensions - a controlled rise with a squeeze beats altitude every time. During leg circles, press your lower back into the floor and shrink the circle the moment that contact starts to slip.

Front, back, fast, slow - around the cycle again. Your trunk is strongest when the loop stays unbroken.

Make it Harder: Double every four-rep block to eight without changing the tens.

Make it Easier: Slow the climbers to a march and halve the leg circle diameter.

I appreciate the flexibility of levels and types of workouts and the amazing amount of content being offered for free. The amount and variety of content is overwhelming to start but the filters really help narrow everything down. And if I still can't make a decision, the monthly challenges and daily movements are a great start. One of my favorite features is the video exercise library. When I'm not sure how to do a movement or exercise correctly, it's easy to find and watch a quick tutorial. (The dashboard and ability to create sorted bookmarks of favorite workouts are also very helpful)

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

Yes, the workouts are awesome and I like them very much. They are easy to understand and don't require much knowledge so you can simply start working out. BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!
