DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

True North is a no-equipment strength and tone circuit that keeps you standing from start to finish: 10 lunges, 10 calf raises, 10 more lunges, then a three-part shoulder block of 10 arm circles, 10 wide arm circles and 10 more arm circles, capped with 10 bicep extensions. Simple movements, held to a steady bearing.

The lower body work sandwiches calf raises between two sets of lunges, so your calves fire while your quads and glutes recover just enough - and the second set of lunges lands on legs that never fully reset. The upper body block does the same thing with amplitude instead of load: small circles fatigue your deltoids with constant tension, wide circles then demand a much larger range on shoulders already burning, and the return to small circles feels entirely different the second time around. That is the trick of unloaded shoulder work - the weight of your own arms becomes surprisingly heavy when the muscle is never allowed to switch off. The bicep extensions at the end run on the same principle: self-generated tension, no equipment required.

Lunge with a tall torso and let your back knee travel straight down. On calf raises, rise all the way onto the balls of your feet and lower with control rather than dropping - the descent is half the exercise. Keep your arms locked straight and at shoulder height through every circle; the moment they drift downward, the exercise gets easier and gives you less. In bicep extensions, clench your fists hard and fight your own arm through the full range.

A compass is only useful if you keep checking it. Same bearing, every session, and you will get where you are going.

Make it Harder: Hold a filled water bottle in each hand for the entire arm circle block.

Make it Easier: Cut each arm circle set to 5 reps and build back up over time.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.

I found Darebee in 2014 and since then I’ve been using it on and off until 2024, when I decided to base all my workouts on Darebee alone. I love the pictures, the variety, the amount of time it takes to complete a workout and how you can mix and match if you have a lot of energy or only repeat 3 times if you don’t feel like exercising. The website is awesome and I recommend it whenever I talk about fitness with other people. I cannot thank Darebee enough for how much this project has helped me in having a solid exercise routine and how to deal with exercise when tired, injured or when I don’t have much time.
