DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Bishop is a lower body and core workout named for the chess piece that only ever moves diagonally - fitting, since almost nothing here travels in a straight line. Lunges appear four times, threaded between plank rotations, shoulder taps and thigh taps, so your legs never get a full move off the board.

The recurring lunge is the structural anchor, and its placement is the strategy. Four blocks of six reps spread across the set accumulate more quality leg volume than one exhausting block of twenty-four would, because each block arrives with just enough recovery to keep your form sharp. Between them, the plank work rotates through variations that each remove a contact point: rotations open the body sideways against gravity, shoulder taps force anti-rotation with one hand off the floor, and thigh taps reach further down the body, lengthening the lever your core has to control. Legs, core, legs, core - a diagonal path through the whole body.

Step into every lunge with control and drop your back knee straight down rather than lurching forward - the front shin stays close to vertical. In plank rotations, move as one welded unit from heels to head. During shoulder and thigh taps, the plank should look identical from the outside whether a hand is on the floor or not; that stillness is the entire exercise.

Six lunges, four times over, always at an angle. The bishop never moves straight, and after this, neither will you.

Make it Harder: Hold the bottom of every sixth lunge for a three-count.

Make it Easier: Perform the plank rotations and thigh taps from your knees.

Extra Credit: 1 minute rest between sets.

I appreciate the flexibility of levels and types of workouts and the amazing amount of content being offered for free. The amount and variety of content is overwhelming to start but the filters really help narrow everything down. And if I still can't make a decision, the monthly challenges and daily movements are a great start. One of my favorite features is the video exercise library. When I'm not sure how to do a movement or exercise correctly, it's easy to find and watch a quick tutorial. (The dashboard and ability to create sorted bookmarks of favorite workouts are also very helpful)

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!
