DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Abs
Type: Burn
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Lean & Mean is a cardio and abs workout with a split personality and zero wasted movement. The first half runs - high knees and climbers in three fast blocks of twenty. The second half drops to the floor and grinds - knee-to-elbows and leg raises in slow, deliberate tens. Fast then focused, lean then mean.

The two halves are deliberately mismatched in tempo, and the mismatch is the training effect. The standing block front-loads the cardio: high knees drive the heart rate up, climbers keep it there while adding shoulder load, and the sandwich structure - knees, climbers, knees - means sixty fast reps with no rhythm to settle into. Then everything slows down. The floor block asks your abs to work with precision while your pulse is still pounding: knee-to-elbows demand rotation and coordination, leg raises demand lower-ab control with a flat lower back. Doing careful core work in a fatigued, breathless state is exactly what makes it stick - anyone can brace when fresh.

Keep the high knees at hip height and the climbers driving all the way in - shortening the range is how speed turns into cheating. When you hit the floor, deliberately downshift: slow reps, full control, no flailing. Press your lower back into the floor during leg raises and lower your legs only as far as that contact survives.

Fast enough to earn the lean, controlled enough to earn the mean. You need both halves.

Make it Harder: Speed up the standing block and slow down the floor block even further.

Make it Easier: March the high knees and bend your knees during leg raises.

I appreciate the flexibility of levels and types of workouts and the amazing amount of content being offered for free. The amount and variety of content is overwhelming to start but the filters really help narrow everything down. And if I still can't make a decision, the monthly challenges and daily movements are a great start. One of my favorite features is the video exercise library. When I'm not sure how to do a movement or exercise correctly, it's easy to find and watch a quick tutorial. (The dashboard and ability to create sorted bookmarks of favorite workouts are also very helpful)

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

Yes, the workouts are awesome and I like them very much. They are easy to understand and don't require much knowledge so you can simply start working out. BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!
